Our client is one of the leading Life Insurers within the country. As a result of strong growth and ongoing staff development they have now developed the need to appoint additional claims assessors to help with the ongoing development of their claims management department. As a senior it is expected that you will have good leadership attributes and the desire to manage a small team. In addition to this you will have strong technical knowledge and be able to effectively train and develop more junior staff to develop into highly proficient and technically minded claims specialists whom can deal with all of the left field issues that present themselves in this space. To be considered for these roles it is expected that you will have at least the following: - 3 years Claims management/assessment expertise within the Income Protection, Life & TPD arena.
- Have a strong understanding of medical conditions, terminology and understand prognosis and the $ implications of such assertions my treating medical practitioners.
- Know how to initiate investigations to identify fraud and "Due Process" to ensure risk exposures are minimized as far as is practicable.
- Be able to communicate clearly and document and record all communication appropriately as though everything you do will be used in a court of law for dispute resolution purposes.
- Be comfortable managing a heavy case load and knowing how to prioritise your work.
- Have a can-do attitude and be flexible to adapt to an ever changing environment and finish what you started doing on that day - if you genuinely can!
